There were not any numbers on the doors and I could not figure out where my hotel is. The mid-day sun is scorching in this hilltown. It 's not my fault. I see the municipal building for Kas and not Kalkan. Woops.
I am looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
Hello?
No answer.
I'm looking for a guy in the kitchen and ask who's in charge. He starts speaking really fast in Turkish.
He has a lot of fun with it. "He no here .... now ...... later ... come" "Tamam" I reply. He smirks. I will put my bags in the corner and get comfortable.

I did not like that. The rooftop is well shaded and gets a nice sea breeze. The manager arrives after 10 or so minutes. He's got a nice shaggy head of frizzy hair. I get the sense he's from Istanbul based on his English and appearance. He's wearing a girl wearing turquoise jewelry and matching colored shirt. She's eye-catching to say the least.
He excuses himself from the table to fix an electric fan across the room; leaving myself and this girl alone. She starts the conversation by saying her English is not good. I would like to know more about Turkish. She smiles. I think it's a good thing to do. She is petite with golden tanned skin. Slim hips, slim legs, slim arms, small frame but big bright eyes set on a childish face. She looks young. The type of young is the only way to get it. She apparently is near the latter. She's 28. After a solid 30 minutes of chit-chat she asks where I will stay. "I ' ll walk around till I find a place. "I reply. She is going to stay at a guesthouse close-by. "Where is it?" I ask. She says she'll take me and go to the stairs. When she gets to the top, she says, "You're going to have to waste the whole day here."
The new place is literally around the corner. I'm going to have to go back to school. She's smiling. It's the type of smile that makes the eyes squint slightly. She asks me if I'd like to spend the afternoon with her. I was not expecting to hear this. "Yes, but what about your friend at your hotel?" "He's working." She answers. "Okay sure, where do you want to go?"
After spending the whole day together we have dinner at the end of the day. I gather that she likes me. I'm very sure of it. Why else would you like me to have dinner with her? She would often give me a smile. I was going to be on the whole day. It's pretty hard not to feel romantic in this location. It is a beautiful seaside town on a hillside overlooking a Greek island in the distance. I can not wait to see you. I could think of anybody in Kas. The town of premature bus departures.
She cooked me dinner. I helped in a clumsy almost unhelpful way. It is delicious, but it is also very tasty. Now I can not remember you. I can not remember. They turned out to be. It's late in the evening. I will retire to all the questions shes asking me. I'm a man who has a lot of love. I tell her this and turn to her. She is looking at me with a half. I lean out of pure instinct; to be able to do sth. But this does not happen. She's into it. Afterwards we can look around and I can sense some trepidation within. I've come to know a bit about Turkish culture and know this sort of thing does not happen in public. I like it very much. I do not know how to do it. This game of cat and mouse for some time until she decides to get up and say we should take a walk back. I concede. We walk slowly back through the town along the stone embankments and crisscrossing stairways. She is holding my arm and walking in tandem me. My room was very comfortable. Neither of us moves. After a moment of apprehension. She replies "No". This surprises me. I ask if I can come to my hotel. Again, "No". I can not wait to see you again. She is stern in her "No" and asks where we should meet tomorrow. She's smart I think to myself. Even I did not believe what I just said. In my state of elation. I get her phone number and tell her call me in the morning. I am looking forward to my room without looking back, throw all my clothes on the floor and proceed to take the coldest possible shower the tap can provide. Afterwards I splatter myself on the bed, power on the television and watch the channel that it defaults to. It's a news piece that is indecipherable to me so I drift off.
I am awaken to the alarm of my phone. I swipe the alarm off and notice through my morning. I intuitively open Whatsapp because that is what the light is about. after the time stamps you would have been texting me all night. Apparently she did not want to come ..... 2 hours after she left.
We spend the next day together. We are with each other. The travel fling I fantasize about with her never materializes but I realize it's way more then that. I wait with her and watch her board the bus to Fethiye. We give every other bittersweet looks as the bus returns out of the station. I could see myself with her. I would call her.
And three weeks later I am. My skin tone and beard. I'm looking for a tea shop to use the WiFi. I am a member of a Syrian, order a çai and text her. I am waiting for you. An hour goes by and still nothing. I can not wait to go back. It's odd to think I've found this one girl in this sea of people. I can not wait to see you. She says it's a good thing. She says maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow is the same story. The day after I try again. The day after that it's something else. I get discouraged and give her an ultimatum. "I'm going to leave you alone." I would like to have a good time in my life. In hindsight this is not really a fair thing to do. It was Ramadan and her family was conservative so I'm sure she was genuinely tied up. However, I'd run out of stuff to do and floundering in idleness. I could not do it any longer. We ended up not meeting. I had to move on. I am on the second day to Lviv.
